Gardening is an evolution . . . you can never be truly "finished". Each day is different from the one before . . an old blossom whithers and a new one takes it's place. A flower drops off only to show a nibbit of fruit. This is what I love about gardening . . there is always new life!
Even if you think you are "finished" . . Aha ! You go to a garden center or farm market & the plants call out to you . . . "Take me home" Please!! "My toes are cramped and sweaty in this plastic pot" "Give me room to roam" !! They are calling at once . . I can hear them in my head . . sometimes the noise is too much to bear . . I want to save them all!!
I do what I can . . . . .
SO for a week maybe . . we are "resting" ( ha! . . . that word doesn't exist in gardening either!). But . . the main structure of the "Kitchen Garden" is done! The beds are planted and watered, and fed. There is a great feeling of satisfaction in getting to this point !
Most of the plants look VERY happy! A few transplants are still getting their footing . . . but looking better each day!
I can't wait till the fence turns that weathered color of grey . . . . I am impatient , but gardening also helps teach me to be a little more so.
Next . . . . a stone path from the garden to the deck, more landscaping around the perimeter for "Pretty's sake" ! AND . . . we tore out most of the old overgrown shrubs on the sides of our house to replant prettier things! Here we will also work in an asparagus bed, & one day another stone walkway . . . and . . . and . . . . See ! NOT finished!!!
Oh . . and we need a good bench for in the garden!
These other projects won't happen quite so fast, but stay tuned and I'll post the progress!

...Hello, I'm a first time commenter but a long time admirer of your work and your garden is beautiful and so quick too! And yes I agree, it is never done! lol... :o) It seems if you aren't planting something new then you're transplanting something somewhere else or dividing and sharing, pulling weeds, saving seeds, the list goes on and so does the garden and so does life...they both kind of go hand-in-hand don't they? :o)
...I also agree on the weathering of the fence. I too have a new section of picket fence attached to an old weathered well & arbor and I am anxious for it to "blend in".

Your garden is gorgeous and your puppy is a perfect adornment - enjoy it all.
