Creativity has no "age" . . . .

Creativity truly has no "age" and knows no boundaries.  These lovely ladies are testament to that!
I hope my mother won't mind my telling her age, but she will be 86 this year and she is still creating.
No idle hands here . . .  she sews and knits and has been rug hooking before the "new" popularity hit.  She met many of these ladies in about 1974 when they all began rug hooking in Bellville , Ohio. They still meet for hooking or needlework of anykind and for the friendships they have developed. Each one of these amazing women has been through joyous as well as sad events . . . loss of spouses and family members, breast cancer and other cancers . . . they have all seen our world change over decades and as always find comfort in needlework and the friendships it creates.

My sister and I spent the day helping as my mother hosted her "Needlewoman friends" this past Wednesday. . .  I came away with a very true sense that needlework and creativity aren't just busywork,  something to pass time or to even make a living .

These threads . . . . be they wool strips, fuzzy yarn or silk fibers are truly those that bind!

Enjoy these pictures of Eileen, my mother (In blue top and tan sweater) Janee, Wanda, Gloria and Jean (and my sister Lanna). This was a day of needlework, sharing and lunch.  The single rug pictures have all been hooked by my mother with exception of the black one by my sister.
The ladies are pictured with their projects in the works , Gloria hooking fruit, Wanda hooking dogwoods, Janee working on Raggedy Anns and the quilt is by Jean.
Oh yes . . . and it was all topped off with my mother's fabulous Apple Crisp!

Creatively, Lori Ann

(And . . .even tho I hook a little . .  I was working on rabbits !!  :-)

Miles to go before I sleep . . . .

Hurry, hurry, scurry, scurry . . .  stitch, stitch, prick, OUCH!  Still so much to do in preparation of tomorrow's web show!
Sleep must wait until next week . . . .  or the next . . .  or the next . . .
