Bluebird on my shoulder . . .

OK, please indulge me . . .

When I lived in the country there were bluebirds, always and everywhere.
I loved that first sign of spring when one might come sit on my studio window sill
to reassure me that yes, it's really coming!
How beautiful is it that something so simple can bring a smile and hope?
I have missed my bluebirds.
Living in the suburbs they don't like such close quarters.
Yes, I've seen them on walks to the park, or drives in the country, but
in the 10 years we have lived here never in our backyard.
Until . . . . . Yesterday!
(Now...some of you might "get" this !)
Husband and I were mid sentence talking about something, I
don't even remember what, when over his shoulder, thru the window I saw
BLUE!
Without missing a beat, I said, whilst pointing . . . BLUEBIRD!
I ran off to grab the camera and snapped 74 photos in a few minutes!
(What were we talking about?  Not a clue!  We never got back to it!)
Bluebirds are definitely more important!
Even thru the screen these images make me smile as I hope they will you!
A bluebird in the suburbs.
Movin' on up?
Or loss of habitat?
But for today I'll just smile!

May you always have a bluebird on your shoulder,
Lori Ann

we have bluebird houses on all of our fenceposts ~ each year they come and start new little families and take over the farmyard! I'm so happy that one seems to be shopping in your backyard for a new home ~ google bluebird boxes and have that man 'o yours make you a couple :))))

Thanks all . . . yes, Dixie, I think he knew I needed a pick me up!
Alice . . . I have made bluebirds, but not for a while, maybe it's a sign to make one again!
Lori . . . already looked them up and told DH to warm up the tools! ;-)

Have a sunny day all!

Would welcome bluebirds here, but am delighted with the little House Wren couple that was flitting around our backyard last weekend house hunting. They always come back to the same house every year, although they have to inspect each house just in case.
So happy for you to have the bluebird visit!!
