Today on the worktable . . . .

 . . . .  OR
"How Mr. Rabbit Got His Spots"
Mr. Rabbit is getting a tad impatient  . . .
With those long ears he can hear me talking to myself all day in the studio.
Every bit of senseless babble, each whimper with a pin or needle prick, he must think me
quite batty! (He would be correct!)
I'm just thankful he can't see the messy studio just yet!
~
A "Spotted Hare" is a bit of a signature piece for me.
I thought I would give you a little peek into the process.
First there is the creating of the actual hare.
Cut, sew, stuff . . . yet at this point he is far from done.
Each spot is carefully cut from mohair and treated to prevent fraying edges.
Spots are placed just so and hand stitched, a process that can take about as long as
just creating the actual hare!
A soft brushing blends his spots beautifully with the contrasting color of his fur.
(I'll show him all finished later in the week!)

Happy stitches!

He is wonderful already!!! Oh my goodness, I do not envy you stitching those patches..all manner of unmentionable words come forth when I simply sew on eye patches for a panda!!!!

Looking forward to seeing him finished.

Lori, we love seeing how your hare gets his spots. I think that could be a title for a book.
