Merry Christmas Eve.

Good morning to you!
It's Christmas Eve morning and we awoke to a dusting of snow.
The world, at least from our window looks sparkly and bright.
It's a welcome change from all the rain, even if the temps are quite frigid.
A good day to be inside baking and cooking for the evenings festivities!

Each year we like to give a small gift to friends, family and neighbors
that we have crafted ourselves.
This year our gift is Handcrafted  Bourbon Vanilla ~ It's heavenly and quite simple!
You can make any sized batch, the ratio of bourbon to vanilla beans is about 5 beans to one cup
of bourbon.  For gift giving we chose to make 4oz. bottles. For each bottle we slit the beans
lengthwise (to help the good stuff get out) then cut them in half to fit in the bottles.
A 4oz. bottle has 2 and one half beans.
Fill with Bourbon and let it age about 8 weeks before using.
This vanilla will be rich, it may not be a clear as filtered store bought, but the flavor
will be amazing! You can scrape the beans for use in cooking as well!
We added sweet tag and bow ~ Voila a simple gift!
You can also make vanilla with Vodka or even brandy if you prefer.
We purchased our 4oz. bottles and Madagascar Vanilla Beans on Amazon.

May your day be filled with wonder,
Lori Ann
