Hello . . . and a little something for you ~ Mask Winners Announced!

 Hello friends . . .

In my head I have good intentions to post to this blog every week. ~ Reality however, is something different - ha ha.

I have 2 fun announcements today!

First, please join myself & 3 dear friends as we collectively update our shops this coming Monday, October 5th. at 8pm EST.

Together we are "Thimble Needle Thread" and the reason we started doing web shows together is because Covid & worrying about the safety of others caused us to cancel a retreat we were planning this year. ~ Until we can plan again, we've joined forces to share some fun Virtual Events with you!

You can find all the details on our website:

https://thimbleneedlethread.com

AND SO . . . speaking of safety ~ In the many months since this virus began I have made upwards of 200 masks. As I struggled to get back to stitching after my mother's passing in January, making masks helped me want to sew and made me feel like I was contributing. I made for family and friends then donated as well. A good number went to my mothers palliative care team for themselves & their homebound patients.  It was a small way I could re-pay their kindness.

Many have asked, but I won't make masks to sell. Selling them just doesn't feel right to me, gifting a small thing that might keep someone safe does.

~ In this spirit I am gifting RABBIT masks to 3 people ~

(Each mask has a filter pocket, nose wire & adjustable elastics - please remove nose wire prior to washing.)

To enter: Please leave a comment on this blog.  I will draw names on Tuesday evening, October 6th.  about 8pm EST

As a registered nurse, I’d love to be a winner! I collect your rabbits and bears and had to buy a huge China hutch to display the over 100 I own! I love your work and your heart!

So sweet of you, Lory!
When my Mom passed away, it took so much out of me.
It’s so important to listen to your own thoughts and take the time you need.💕

Well, fun announcements indeed!!! Can't wait to see the offerings you three will have....I already set an alarm LOL. And so sweet of you to donate the masks....and generously offer this giveaway. Our governor just extended our mandatory mask order through the end of November...it seems like forever. The very worst thing about this mess for me personally is missing my mom....she is in assisted living and has not been allowed visitors since March. She has dementia, so even though someone can tell her over and over why she can't have visitors, but she will have forgotten 2 minutes later....she just thinks we have all abandoned her I'm sure. And calling isn't much of an option since she doesn't hear well and it involves having one of the limited staff members go get her, put her in a wheelchair (she fell a few weeks ago and so is not mobile either) and then bring her to the phone. Gah!!! Just wish things would get better all over!! Stay well and safe...and fingers crossed. ~Robin~

What a thoughtful attitude to have. Oh, that more people would be so kind and generous in these times. I love that rabbit print, too.

I too have made masks for family and friends. Gifting something that may prevent illness is the right thing for me too. That being said I would love one of your rabbit masks and would wear it smiling every time.

Such cute fabric! I've made masks for friends and family, and a few for myself, but this would certainly be fun to wear! Thank you for a chance!
So sorry about your mother-it's so hard to lose those we love.

So wonderful of you to do what you are doing with your masks. Your creativity never ceases to amaze! Thank you for being you. If I should win one, it goes to my mom--she'll be the envy of all her fellow residents in her assisted living facility!🙂!

Love the masks. I was able to purchase one of your pincushions a couple years ago. I had fun making it and it came out pretty well.

I love visiting The Spotted Hare. And as a bonus getting to vicariously visit Ohio (which I miss terribly). Thank you for offering a drawing for such a stylish mask. Very kind.

I excitedly opened your blog to read about someone winning a Halloween mask all the while wishing I had entered. I’m picturing some exotic Harlequin style or maybe feathers and beads! Scroll down.....Say what?! A Pandemonium face mask 😟. So glad I am not in the frame of mind that would make me expect to see this type of “mask”. But thank you for getting others excited to win that type.👺
