What fun we had at the York show ! Except for the drive out in nasty rain the weather was beautiful! Of course as usual I was so pre-occupied that I didn't get any pictures of wonderful artists works! (except one that I bought!)
So..... here are a couple of pictures of my treasures . . . I purchased mostly from the antique show part . . . but there was much I could have bought in our side as well, if only I had deeper pockets!
One photo shows a grouping of things I bought for "work" these will eventually show up on rabbits and bears and in vignettes.
The photo with the dog painting . . . These are for me! First an antique velvet star pincushion for my collection . . a tramp art frame in which to place family photos.
And . . . . this sweet painting of a dog shaking hands by "Annie Childs" is the only artist work I bought. Annies painting is just wonderful . . . she paints in a very early style and uses antique paper and frames. I could have bought out her booth, but the dog just spoke to me as it reminds me of our dear "Lacy Lu" !
Annie's work and home (along with other artists such as the Schneemans) are pictures in the wonderful book . . "The Settlement" .
Enjoy,
Lori Ann
