It's been a tough summer for gardening!
With temps consistently in the 90's and very little rain you feel at times
like you are fighting a battle against mother nature.
The kitchen garden might not look quite as "pretty" this year but with daily watering
she is beginning to shower us with
all things good and healthy!
We have eggplant galore, tomatoes of 5 varieties,
purple beans, fresh garlic, leeks, onions, beautiful butternut squash,
yellow banana peppers, block peppers and . . . .
WAY more jalapenos than a sane person could eat !
If you have never had an eggplant fresh off the vine
I highly recommend it!
They are lush and moist and flavorful!
Check out last years Oct. post
for my favorite "Stacks" recipe!
Enjoy,
Lori Ann
